Terrific synposis and I can't wait to hear those interviews. Thanks very much for taking the time to put this all together, sdd. I have to suggest that the Red Wings, IMHO, are going into this season with many more questions than last. While I agree that they don't lack for a good front two lines, a groovy power play and a good front four defense, they seem to be rolling some dice in the goaltending situation and in some of the forward depth. Still - it would be a shock for them to finish any lower than 5th or 6th in the West. And Jamie Howard is a for real prospect. I hope he isn't backing up Hasek, but playing everyday in the minors until the Dominator's inevitable groin pull.

Dad got me great access to the camp and I was so excited I almost fainted but had to act like it was no big deal. Let me tell you though standing in between Jimmie Howard and Coach Babcock during one of the practice games was an incredible experience. I managed to talk to Draper and Zetterberg (2 of my favorites) and didn't even stutter over myself. Watching these guys play in itself was an experience. They were out there to win even if it was against their own teammates and just for practice. There was even a little shoving going on. Being a new fan to hockey I was like a kid in a candy store with unlimited funds! Unbelievable experience! Thanks dad!

"The Detroit Red Wings plan to keep people waiting for them to announce who their captain will be now that Steve Yzerman has retired. “We’re going to name a captain opening night,” Detroit coach Mike Babcock said Thursday before an exhibition game against Colorado." From the Detroit Freepress Sept. 21st's late edition. You'd have to register to read the entire story (its quite a small couple paragraphs) but they do imply it's probably Lindstrom entering his 15th year with the Wings. Why the delay? Could be they're going with Zetterberg.......... just saying....

Thanks for all your hard work skydivedad. I'm amazed at how calm you seem during the interviews. And I must admit, as someone who doesn't follow much hockey, my favorite part might be waiting for the "hello sportsfilter" at the end of each video. Some react very smoothly, others seem completely lost.
