Hidden: #1 vs #2 Update.: Why do we see no posts of contrition from the Texas fans that swore up and down that this years OSU/Texas match-up would have the same results as last year? Could it be that their arrogance won't allow it? Moreover, why do we NOT see any posts containing gloating comments from Ohio State fans touting the impressive victory by the Buckeyes? Could it be that Buckeye fans have more class than to do this? Makes you wonder doesn't it?

Could it be that their arrogance won't allow it? Not necessarily, though the guidelines kind of forbid gloating, which should answer your question, and render this thread worthy of deletion.

It's a long season and there are plenty of Big 10 foes that could bring a loss to the Buckeyes. In the Cooper era, I remember an undefeated Buckeye team being beaten by a much less talented Michigan State team. It can happen any weekend therefore I think fans are quietly celebrating each week.

Quietly rioting, that is. When I was a student at OSU (1995-1998), students rioted after games against Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State. I'm also pretty sure the students burned stuff after we beat Miami for the national championship. I'm not sure why they do it, but they do.

I think, maybe, dobu has something there! It IS a long season and most Buckeye fans view a pre-season #1 ranking as a kiss of death of sorts. It's gonna be a fun one to watch though.

Preacher Steve, 15 yards, personal foul, excessive gloating after the game, the down counts, delete the thread. Texas ball.

Did Ohio State win the Title with Baby Face Clarrett? I wonder if Bubba will like his Letter Jacket in the "BIG HOUSE"

Have a peek around the board before making your righteous judgment there, PreacherSteve. And to think you made us wait almost 7 months before coming out of the closet with this tripe.

Could it be that Buckeye fans have more class than to do this? Many Longhorns fans and blogs, in the weeks leading up to the game, vowed to make the OSU fans' stay in Austin and at Memorial Stadium much more pleasant than the rude, unpleasant trip to Columbus last year. We call it "hospitality" down here, you all should try it some time....

PreacherSteve: Would you prefer that Bears' fans start gloating about how they beat up on the Packers this weekend? Yeah, I thought not. That is why this site is a no gloating zone. Read, learn and follow the guidelines. Another vote for deletion of this lame thread.

Please delete this thread. If you wanted to say any of this you could have done it in the FPP only 15 down from here. It doesn't even link to anything.

I do not remember TEXAS fans burning anything after last years victory. So you tell me who has more class.

There's a lot of speculation in that opening paragraph, Preacher. I think it's merely a case of two very strong, talented teams facing off very early in a long season. The results won't matter a bit if Ohio State ends up stumbling throughout the rest of their schedule. As for Texas, I applaud Brown and the university for taking a stand against the players who made such poor decisions prior to the game, and definitely didn't help the Longhorns' cause.
