A big bang for the buck.: Ten players who will try to bring their "A" game for their new teams, all with salaries around two million.

No one doubts Lindros' skill -- he's big, strong and puts the puck in the net -- and he'll have something to prove this season as well. ... which was the same rationale that the Leafs use to get 33 games out of him last year. Good luck, Stars.

Wow, I didn't know that Geoff Sanderson was still kicking around the league.

Was this article written by the Leafs' management team? Because this is exactly how they have approached each one of the last dozen or so seasons.

Good call on Patrick Lalime, although there is the very real possibility that he suffered his career Mitch Williams moment at the hands of Joe "Carter" Nieuwendyk way back when. I'd say he's 50-50 at this point.

Terrific, a hockey thread. I miss hockey. So typical of the Wings picking up a goalie like Hasek to try and relive past glory. Let it go already, play Howard and move your team forward. Anyway Wings good luck with that. (not) I've already tongue and cheeked the Lalime signing with qbert in another thread a few weeks ago,"nuff said". Sanderson and Lindros just stick a fork in them. Their Done! Did I mention how much I miss hockey? Looking forward to the Rookies and Prospects Tournament coming up Sept. 8th thru the 12th. I have a few tickets see my locker room post for more info. Sure do miss hockey.........Did I mention that?

The only player on that list that strikes me as even remotely related to the headline is Kim Johnsson. He is a bargain at $4.8. The rest of those guys are, if anything, overrated dudes who took pay cuts because no one was buying their shit anymore at the regular price. Hasek can still play, but only when he really, really feels like it.
