Hidden: St Louis' Ankiel out for season: Ok so I'm a Tigers fan and probably shouldn't care, but it just strikes me as odd that someone named Ankiel should be sidelined with a knee injury. Anyone have any other odd confluences of names to injurys or even plaing position?

injurys? plaing? I will learn to proof-read, I will learn to proof-read, I will learn to proof-read. (sigh)

injurys? plaing? I will learn to proof-read, I will learn to proof-read, I will learn to proof-read. (sigh) I will not post while drunk...I will not post while drunk... Another bad break in what has become a bizarrely disappointing career for a guy who looked to be a superstar just a few years ago. 26 years old, a near-rookie outfielder, and now a bum knee as well. Wonder if he can develop his batting enough to figure in as a pinch-hitter or DH. I really enjoyed watching the kid when he broke in, and was as baffled as anyone when his arm went crazy.

Sadly TBH I haven't started drinking yet today, but it would seem it's time to start.

Of all the game bats i own,his is the only one still tucked away in a dark corner.I'll never forget the quote"He's the next Sandy Koufax".After all i did to get that gamer.I'll trade it for a piece of gum that Albert Belle chewed, any takers?

I'd totally take the Ankiel off your hands in a trade. I still think the kid's going to make the majors as a OF. This really sucks. Ankiel's had a really weird and star-crossed life, and if you can stick with baseball after the inning he had against the Braves, well, damn it, you outgh to get another shot.

I hate to hear anything bad about the kid. He and Lindsay Lohan should get together and swap dad stories.

Man I remember the playoffs in 2000 when he threw balls all over the place. Surreal. "Any other odd confluences of names to injurys or even plaing position" Didn't Dick Trickle have kidney stones.

So at least he didnt turn to drugs and alcohol, i.e. Josh Hamilton the other prospect I know drafted a few years later but as the #1 overall. I wish both the best.
