Just when you thought Somalia couldn't get any worse. This sounds like an excellent way to be overthrown; people on the African continent will put up with Apartheid, starvation, sectarian violence, genocide, sandstorms, drought, famine, and disease, but taking away their World Cup just might be too much!

“We do not accept the Islamic militia stopping us from watching the World Cup,” Ahmed Yusuf, 19, told reporters. “We’ll continue demonstrating until they relent.” You go, Ahmed. You go.

Makes me feel bad for moaning about how crappy the coverage is (or, more specifically, the commentators and pundits are) in the UK. I'm not even going to miss the lunchtime game today thanks to the BBC website's live feed. I'm spoilt.

As an Army Veteran that was deployed to Somalia during Operation Restore Hope and Operation Continue Hope, this does not surprise me. This country will always be a hotbed of anarchy until the end of time. I'm going to shut up now.
