OMG!: It's actually here! Stop talking about rape allegations and come and join the World Cup dribble fest. Go Serbia & Montenegro!
From the OMG! link: A poll published in a German newspaper yesterday revealed that when it comes to beer consumption, the Czech Republic are world champions. I knew there was a reason I liked these guys.

Any of you guys remember Sensible Soccer? You could make your own teams and I had a Deities 11, with Jesus as the big target man up front, (for the obvious jokes alone). We were doing well until Thor got sent off in the final game of the season; a hattrick from Stalin giving Despots and Dictators United the title. Meanwhile, Google has a logo for today :

Thor got sent off in the final game of the season; a hattrick from Stalin giving Despots and Dictators United the title. Reminds me of the UNICEF pro/celebrity charity game played a couple of weeks ago at Old Trafford between "England" and "The Rest of the World." "That's Michael Gecko from Eastenders, and he knocks it through for Celebrity Chef, Gordon Ramsey... who flicks it on beautifully for Maradonna - who has been dispossessed by Robbie Williams... this is turning into a strange evening."

Are there any good flash soccer games people care to share? There use to be a great penalty kick one where they placed the ball anywhere around the goal box and you had to choose spin, direction, etc.

Best soccer (football) game I ever played was a 3-on-3 game for GameCube (later came out for PS2). I don't recall the name off-hand, but you played as one of these weird ethnically-mixed teams (like all Norse, African gods, etc.). I spent far too much time beating the shit out of the GC at that. Not that it was in Flash vito, but there you go.

I've set up my high-definition personal video recorder to grab every single game in the upcoming week. However, I only have 20 hours of recording time at the HD level, and each match is listed at 2hrs, so I'll have to watch/delete at a pretty regular pace when I get home from work each night, especially since I'll be away from the house on Saturday and Sunday. It's also going to take great effort to not find out the scores of the games before I get home. I would like to propose that final scores not be part of the main post on the front page. If something dramatic happens, save it for the comment section.

Sensible Soccer was great! One of my favourite games ever. I used to create teams, and am now kicking myself for never doing a deities team. Time to fire up the Amiga emulator, plug in my gamepad, and fire up Sensi World of Soccer.

Or use Dosbox and the PC version. Seem to work equally as well.

I suspect we could safely put the Sweden v TnT score on the front page and Grum wouldn't believe us.
