Steelers Planning a Casual, Understated Title Defense: Unlike those self-promoting New England Patriots:
But aren't the Steelers going to do a little commemorating or self-congratulation in the pregame? "No, we don't do things like that,'' he said. "We gave them all rings, and we have a trophy for winning that game.''As opposed to . . . a for-pay concert featuring Bill Belichick's favorite, Bon Jovi. [via]
Once again the Steelers have shown "Class Act all around"

I'm not a big steelers fan but I sure was rooting for them in the playoffs last year and what a class act they showed then and now except for the two steelers berating that seattle tight end when the game was over

Anyone who thinks Nickelback is a musical act is sadly fucking mistaken. So true it hurts. Canadia has a lot of good bands but Nickleback isn't one of them.

Re: "class act" - didn't read the links, huh? I think the Rooneys have always done things right, but there's a niggling inconsistency here.

Their is no I in team but there is an I in Winner. The Steelers have always been a Team win lose or draw no one does it like the Rooney's

Oh, give me a break. Hanging a banner at the stadium and saying "yay we won the Superbowl last year" at the stadium on opening night gets the fans pumped up about the season. Criticizing New England (or any team - even the Cowboys) for trumpeting a Superbowl victory is silly. I would be surprised if the stadium announcer doesn't introduce the Steelers by at least saying "the Superbowl winning Steelers" on opening night, which will also whip the fans into a frenzy. It wouldn't make them any less classy to be pumped up about the huge win at the game itself, in my opinion. The Steelers are relatively classy either way. However, the pay per view concert is justified and I hope the people of Pittsburgh have an absolute blast. Bon Jovi, of course, stinks of class.

Is that what that is? I thought it was Aquanet.

Class smells like Aquanet. Well, and Axe.

I must have missed the memo regarding steeler class. Still, as god awful as that super bowl was it's rather fitting to have bon jovi headline the celebration.

How and when did Bon Jovi suddenly become the musical guest of choice for all professional sports in America? Every time I turn around, there's Bon Jovi, at everything from NASCAR to the NFL. Give it a rest, already! Why can't they go overseas and torture the EPL or the WLAF, or some other acronym?

Steelers have to watch out for the Browns and Bengals. They're better than the Steelers in every way.

I take exception to this: Canadian-based rock group Nickelback tops the list of supporting musical acts Anyone who thinks Nickelback is a musical act is sadly fucking mistaken. If South Park: The Movie had been made now instead a few years ago, the Canadian ambassador would have been apologizing for these clowns, not Bryan Adams.
