Beast from the East Puts Off WBA Title Defense Due to Knee Injury: Russian heavyweight boxer Nikolai Valuev has postponed the defense of his WBA title from April 1 to May 27 due to knee surgery he underwent three weeks ago, All Boxing News web-site reported. The operation was successful, but the boxer said he needed more time to recover.
I wonder how many razors were used to shave his knee for sugery?

...And now here's jennifer from our Moscow Bureau. What's new, jennifer? "Well, Tom, today giant heavyweight Nikolai Valuev underwent surgery to repair a giant knee. Doctors were forced to improvise the procedure due to the size of the patient, and reports indicate that some of the equipment used included a spatula, bear trap, hedgetrimmer and an entire 40 pound wheel of brie. While leading physician Dr. Yuri Thirtypercentov is confident of the success of the procedure, he did mention losing his watch and two pairs of shoes during the operation and reports that while sedated, Valuev managed to eat an entire nurse. Valuev's next title defense will come against two kangaroos and a Volkswagon sometime in May."

You're out of your mind. Valuev's had brunches bigger than Mugabi.

I think boxing is cool too, but I wanna see this guy fight some more. I sense he won't last against a genuinely good fighter, but then again, this is one of the driest eras the heavyweight division has seen since maybe ever, so he might not see a genuinely good fighter for a long while yet. And that's not even including the corruption at the top of the sport. If there was someone who was any good, we might never know unless they sign with Vince McMahon Bob Arum or Don King.

Like the article says (about Mugabi) that was one of the best times in the middleweight division (with apologies to the Sugar Ray Robinson and Jake LaMotta era, they were just before my time). And I agree with you, Chico. This has got to be the worst the heavyweight division has been maybe ever.
