Newcastle chop Souey: You know the editors had the headline ready for this not-so-surprising move. One of the biggest clubs in England (remember when?) lays down the axe on their manager.

One could almost feel sorry for Souness what with having an interfering and obnoxious chairman and suffering an horrendous injury crisis all season. But then think of the compensation package he'll get. And it ain't the first one he's pocketed. Hasn't he been sacked from every managerial position he's been in? Oh, and he was a nasty, malicious player in his time.

Oh, and he was a nasty, malicious player in his time. And a red with a mullet, perm, porn-stache and nutters. How bad can it get?

Aren't most managers sacked unless they retire or leave for greener pastures? The Fergusons are pretty few and far between--how long do you think Mourinho will stay at Chelsea or Benitez at Liverpool? I was amused to see that Sam Allardyce is the betting shops favorite to take over because I can't see the attraction for him when Bolton is so much better and he doesn't have Shearer sitting on his shoulder. I think they ought to let Roeder finish the season as long as the team stays out of the relegation zone and then tap their skipper so he starts with a clean-ish slate. Tex: Tripod is blocking the direct linkage.

It's showing for me, bill. Any idea why?

Over-use of the term "mullet" is one of my pet peeves. Souey is indeed sporting a dope perm and porn 'stache, but that is not a mullet. However, I would love to see a picture of him in full-on mullitude, if such exists.

Oh. Let's not forget his off-center "soul patch"...

That tripod link of texan's is most likely a permmullet (according to mulletsgalore.com). Not a definite but pretty damn close.

Venice is right, I don't see no mullett. Tex, no clue except maybe you're a Tripod member and have a logged in cookie while I'm not and don't?

I promise, that first link I posted is pure mullet. I dunno bill. Maybe I'm a tripod member and forgot I signed up. Here's another pic, though not quite so mulletfied.

Dude, how is that even close to a mullet?
posted by billsaysthis at 10:31 PM on February 02, 2006
It's not...I was being facetious...not quite so mulletfied = not mulletfied at all. If I knew how to upload the tripod one directly to the thread, I would. But alas...

Is that the right one texan?

Thank you justgary! That's the one! OK, it's not a traditional mullet in the Fabreges mode but at its essence it fits the "business in the front, party in the back" description.

billsaysthis: Newcastle are a far bigger club than Bolton. He'd have a rebuilding job to do, sure, but the potential there is far far greater than the Trotters.

Sure, Sal, but why not see what he can do with Bolton now since good jobs come open all the time? Or maybe get the England job in a few months.
