Video of the speedstacking world record holder: Click on the video on the left of this page titled: "Watch as World Champion Stacker Emily sets the world record!" I'd never heard of this sport, but watching this video I was impressed. At first I questioned whether I cosidered speed stacking an actual sport, but if you consider bowling a sport, then it's hard to deny speed stacking fits in the category.

This goes back to the whole is cheerleading a sport question. I also think it is a great show of skill but I do not think it is an actual sport.

Principal Skinner: Here's a whole box of unsealed envelopes for the PTA! Bart: You're making me lick envelopes? Skinner: Oh, licking envelopes can be fun! All you have to do is make a game of it. Bart: What kind of game? Skinner: Well, for example, you could see how many you could lick in an hour, then try to break that record. Bart: Sounds like a pretty crappy game to me. Skinner: Yes, well... Get started.

I wonder if "juicing" would help you in in "speed stacking"! .

my kids have to do cup stacking in PE class.(among other non threatening activities) If I were a PE teacher at the elementary level, I couldn't look myself in the mirror. Man, things sure have changed in 30 years.

I fear for the future. Commercial soon to be heard, "Tonight on ESPN 8 The Ocho, watch as the Wichita Wonders take on the Bismarck Bad Boys in the Karaoke Championships! Sponsors include..."

Man, things sure have changed in 30 years. PE just isn't what it used to be. Kids aren't allowed to play dodgeball because it's not good for self-esteem so they stack cups instead. Maybe I'm missing the point but anything kids do that they completely suck at is not going to be good for their self-esteem. Fifteen years from now instead of "out like the fat kid in dodgeball" you're going to hear people say "down like the fat kids cups in...cup stacking"?

Much love to Dodgeball for bringing the often ignored ESPN Ocho to the masses. I bet ESPN 5 would be good, they'd probably run out of poker and spelling bee shows by the time they got there and maybe we'd actually see sports

Sorry, but I think it is more likely to be lumped in with whatever speed eating is. And despite ESPN covering such things as speed eating, neither it nor stacking is a sport. Impressive show of skill (stacking, not eating) perhaps, but not a sport, IMHO.
