Jay-Z gunning for the Gunners?: Yes, rapper Jay-Z, boyfriend of Beyonce, president of Island Def Jam Records, is looking to buy a share of the Arsenal. Heard this on my local station, KMEL. My favorite quote from this article: "Jay-Z loves football - he thinks the whole scene is very bling." Hahahaha. Man, this is ripe for some jokin'.

Jay z: "Put me anywhere on God's green earth, I'll triple my worth." "I sell ice in the winter, I sell fire in hell I am a hustler baby, I'll sell water to a well I was born to get cake, move on and switch states Cop the Coupe with the roof gone and switch plates Was born to dictate, never follow orders Dickface, get your shit straight, fucka this is Big Jay"

Well, that was edifying. Thanks, Bill, now I really feel like I've learned something today.

The source added: "Jay-Z is a man who gets what he wants - and he wants a portion of a Premiership club. "He and Roman got on really well, but he wouldn't dilute his shareholding of Chelsea. What a source! "Jay Z gets what he wants... but he's not getting what he wants." Neat!

Jee-bus - lbb - I can hear the sarcasm and I don't even know what you sound like. Jay-Z is a hip-hop masta. You need to recognize (and perhaps hear the rythym set to music - it's quite impressive)! Anyway - if you hate rap, generally nothing can sway you. What music do you like? I want to make fun of it. Jigga is a big sports nut - he'd be right at home on a Sportsfilter - his club is the 40/40 club (baseball reference), he bought into the Nets, now he's going premiership. I say he's living the sports fan dream. He's the black Mark Cuban, but with more sense.

I don't hate rap, Weedy. I just think that's a pretty poor example of the genre.

Wiggidy wiggidy wack. Hey, maybe we can get Jay-Z on here for a SpoFi interview. Hell, maybe we can get Jay-Z to buy this whole damn thing, and we can all cash out! Ohwaitaminute ...

that's a pretty poor example of the genre harsh, that's my favorite Jay Z track (U Don't Know). I guess it's all personal opinion. But if you've never listened to it, well, U Don't Know.

The R.O.C. - lyrical genius. I wish he was the new commissioner of major league baseball.

But if you've never listened to it, well, U Don't Know. Nah, it's just that I was just playing Del tha Funkee Homosapien, and felt that Jay Z suffers by comparison.

You mean Deltron? Backrap rap throwdowns seem oxymoronic.

Jay-Z sucks. I mean, c'mon, "dictate" and "Dickface" don't even rhyme! As soon as you new pups pull out "Fear of a Black Planet" or "Three Feet High and Rising," we'll talk.

Why EPL?? Jay-Z is in America, why doesnt he try to start a new MLS team?

Come on, now, Jay-Z doesn't suck. "Reasonable Doubt" is one of the best hip-hop albums ever. It is okay to like Public Enemy and Jay-Z.

Yep. And Camp-lo and Dead prez and Common and Blackstar and Digable Planets and all the other good stuff that isn't gangsta. But gangsta is good too. Nas Illmatic is all-time great. And Jay-Z is good too. Ghostwrote so much stuff for so many people...

"Come on, now, Jay-Z doesn't suck. "Reasonable Doubt" is one of the best hip-hop albums ever. It is okay to like Public Enemy and Jay-Z." I agree wholeheartedly. Easily in the top 15, maybe even 10. Lyrical genius mixed with a classiness seldom matched by other rappers.

Iriebaby: Why EPL?? Jay-Z is in America, why doesnt he try to start a new MLS team? Now that's some original thinking. It woulda been cool if he did that, get some more urban involvement in the game right here at home. But it looks like he's just looking for an easy investment without all the work. Can't blame him as a businessman. But your idea would've been inspirational, Irie. Welcome to the SpoFi.

Thanks, worldcup2002, I appreciate the welcome--I am pretty new as a poster, although Ive been reading here for some time. If Jon Bon Jovi can own an arena football team, I dont see much difference in Jay-Z owning a soccer team in the USA. But I do see your point. Maybe he's not as "into" the sport so much as he's into the idea of owning a team. Too bad.

Isn't Jay Z buying the Nets and moving them to Brooklyn? That time demand would explain wanting to be an investor only in another club.

Looks like the Sunday Mirror got the scoop ... and the killer headline: BEYONCE'S RAPPER LOVER IS AFTER A PIECE OF ARSE Apparently, he tried to buy a piece of Chelsea first, but they turned him down. One rich gangsta at Chelsea was enough, I guess. Hahahahaha. I crack myself up.
