The balls have spoken!: The Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA draft lottery. They can credit the lucky fishing lure, and will hope to not catch one worth throwing back.

From the worst picks list: I don't know if Milicic is really the worst pick of all time: he wasn't a #1 pick, expected-franchise-savior type of bust, and obviously no one can predict the breakout stars like Wade- otherwise picking him at #2 would have been a no brainer. Although if the Heat beat the Pistons on the back of Wade... then again, Detroit won last year, had two championships at the tail end of the 80's, are in the Conference Finals this year, so it's not that horrible that this pick didn't pan out. See, my choice for worst lottery pick of all time: 1986 #2 pick Len Bias. It's one thing when that seeming-star doesn't pan out, but when he doesn't survive two days past the lottery? That really crippled the Celtics franchise- and the tragic Reggie Lewis death didn't help either- and who knows what-might-have-been if Bias had learned at the feet of Bird et al for a few years: to hear the stories of his ability, he might have been constantly vying with Jordan in a classic "Bird/Magic redux" at the start of the 90's. But then again, even more so than Detroit, we can't very well be crying for the Celtics' fortunes, either!

You truly are a Boston sports fan, Hal: the end justifies the bitching. This would be like complaining about the Cardinals drafting Pat Tillman since he left to join the Army and then got shot.

"The end justifies the bitching." That should be the Massachusetts state motto.

Okay, Darko is the worst because of who Detroit could have drafted instead... hmmm... I'm no Yahoo! sports writer, but immediately I seemed to recall a certain Sam Bowie, who was terrible throughout his whole career, also drafted number 2, right ahead of a certain Michael Jordan, as well as Charles Barkley and John Stockton. But sure! Darko's the worst! Darko does dog it when he gets in some times, but he's playing behind a rather talented frontcourt in Ben Wallace, Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess. Heck McDyess the former All-Star doesn't always seem to be trusted by Larry Brown. I don't think we can say how good Darko is until Detroit gets a new coach or he goes to another team.

I'm a math geek, so I'd love to see what those "number tables" look like.
