Culpepper peeved as Eagles fans act like ... Eagles fans: Minnesota Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper says his wife, along with the family members of other Viking players, were harrassed by the Philly faithful during the Eagles' recent 27-14 playoff win. Well, duh.
Hmmm, the story seems a bit one-sided, but you can't be all that surprised. While there's no excuse for throwing stuff at someone or spitting at them, I wonder how much Culpepper's family's reaction exacerbated the problem. After scoring free badass tickets (plus a platinum parking pass!) to the Mavs/Sonics game a few months ago, some friends and I wound up sitting behind Rashard Lewis's family and friends. We had some spirited discussion, but also exchanged a lot of laughs and hi-gives (hell, what can you do after Lewis nearly single-handedly won the game in the 4th Q for Seattle?). It seems to me like anytime you're in the stands and there are people on both sides of the game, the way you handle the other side's trash talk makes all the difference, and I've been all too close to too many fights to not notice the exact tipping point where things get ugly.
