The torch is out, let's go to Flushing. : The US Open starts tomorrow, and it should be a very high quality tournament: there are a lot of players playing very well right now. First-round draw here, seeds here, tee vee schedule here.

When the Olympic torch had been burnt down,my heart was full of passion and missing.I miss the 17 days that I got up at midnights to watch the TV live, cheering for our dear Chinese athletes. As we all witness,we harvested 31 gold! Now I hope that I can be a volenteer for 2008 Beijing Olympic,to welcome all the tourists and sportsmen throughout the world!Let's desire and wait...

Let's desire and wait... I've got a better idea, luckygirl9: let's buy a clue and post on-topic. To all others: I guess any thread alluding to the Olympics is just asking for it...

I think it was on-topic (what to do post-olympics?), just clearly not from someone with english as a first language. Chill.

Yeah, take it easy or at least give us a set of guidelines as to what is OK to post in your threads.

I would have thought it was abundantly clear, but the thread was about the US Open tennis tournament which begins today. It was not about the Olympics, in Beijing or anywhere else.

I'm just glad the Olympics is over so I can listen to live BBC radio commentary of EPL games. WOOT!

fashion tip to Serena: you look retarded with those boot-thingies. and its worse knowing the boot-thingies are tear-away. yikes! Agreed that she was a fashion catastrophe -- my first reaction was, "She wore what?!??" But part of me is thinking that maybe she was thinking something like, "I wonder what's the most ridiculous outfit I can wear and still win a match?" I wonder what it'll be next. Grass skirt and coconut bra? And what if the other players on the tour start to get into the act? This could get really ugly if things start to escalate. (Obtennis: most of the usual suspects advanced out of the first round, including Juan Carlos Ferrero who took four and a half hours to beat Thomas Zib (4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (6), 6-7 (4), 6-3), but Marat Safin lost to Thomas Enqvist in four sets. Sharapova is in the third set against Laura Granville, down 3-4 in this set -- they split the first two. Venus plays later this evening.)
