Big 10, Big Brother?: The Big 10 is going to experiment this year with a "technical advisor" sitting upstairs with a Tivo. If he sees a call, ball spot, or anything else that seems to be made in error, he hits a button that pages the officials and the play is called for review. Good idea, bad idea? Time will tell, I guess.

That Tivo's going to wind up taping a ton of college football games during the week. It'll probably be full before the Bowls roll around.

Conference coaches were unanimous in support of it Wednesday during their media day addresses, though on any given Saturday that percentage probably will drop to about half. Great quote.

Other than the Pepsi Blue factor, how is this different than instant replay? Plus, of course, the review being done by an official without a request from one of the teams.
