Mondesi is California dreamin'.: He bailed from the Pirates, he was tossed from the Yankees, and now Anaheim takes on Raul. Mondesi got nothing but love for fellow Latin players.

We'll see how well he reacts to riding the pine once Garret Anderson comes back. Although, I wonder if this means the Angels are worried that he'll be out for the bulk of the season...

The most amazing thing about this article is that Raul made $13 million last year. Boy have things changed. Still, I think this sets kind of a bad precedent. What's to stop players on bad teams from intentionally breaching their contracts to effectively get a second crack at the free agent market? I'm sure the Pirates anticipated this when they voided his contract, but it still seems fishy to me. Incidentally, I'm glad the Red Sox didn't pick up this hacker.

As someone who has Garret Anderson in (one of) his baseball pools, I can say with certainty that he's probably out for at least another 2 months. Arthritis in the back is pretty damn serious and it's going to take some time for the medication and rehab to get him going again.

Well, personality issues aside, $1.75 mil is a bargain for the best arm in the game... Wonder how he'll do offensively...
