Mourinho Champion's league final set (and who would have thunk it). Monaco get two away goals to send Chelsea packing (Guardian match report), while Porto wins another away leg, scoring a penalty to hold off Deportivo. So let the nit-picking begin. Did Ranieri "tinker" too much in the first leg? Who'll win the final? Will Mourinho take Ranieri's place next season? Does anyone care about any of this?

Sorry about the link weirdness. The first link should have been placed later. Not sure what happened there.

Congratulations to Monaco, who were the better team over the two legs. Morientes is a class act. I have no idea why Real Madrid thought they could do without him. My theory is that Mourinho is going to Real Madrid, Lippi is off to Chelsea, and Ranieri will go to Tottenham. Even though I dislike Spurs quite intensely, I'd like to see the Tinkerman stay in England.

Ranieri has done nothing but earn my respect this season. Somehow he took a bunch of new signings (none of which have egos noooo) and mold them into a team that will finish second or third in the league and that went to the Champion's league semi-final. He deserves better from Abramovich. Either way, he's definitely done at Chelsea.

Mourinho and Becks to Chelski, Ranieri to Spuds and Morientes back to Real. You heard it here first. Or in The Sun. Whichever.

Uh, isn't there a relegation thread? this is champions league thread! get your crappy stinky leeds stuff away from the classy porto and monaco comments. i was feeling sorry for that kid until i thought that he's probably the sort that looks like he's in for some "anti-social behaviour" on a friday night. so then i thought ha ha and hope the heartbreak of watching his team get relegated does not mess him up.

I've been around the whole time...i mostly post in the Locker Room though... And i saw that poor kid crying during the game...he was singing some song called, "We're Going Down In A Minute..." or something like that... Kinda made me sad.

Abromovich has the rubles but would he really shell out a world record transfer fee for Beckham? Is a more creative midfielder the missing piece for Chelski and does David truly want to come home? I think the match between Chelsea and ManU in about six hours might give some answers.
