"What are you doing with teenaged boys? What are you doing with concrete?": Boston's Big Dig results in a skate park for that most prized of constituencies, 14 year-old boys.
Cost overrunning is not a crime! Oh, wait...

That is so cool. I can't skateboard, I have never TRIED to 'board, but even I think that's a great idea.

I used to skate before kickflips were part of the the standard repertoire (unless you were Rodney Mullen or Claus Grabke). If someone hit a 180 ollie to 5050, we'd be impressed. Of course, 8 times out of 10, if you tried to 5050 any of the curbs in my neighborhood, you'd end up on your ass. I guess that wasn't that long ago... Nevertheless, I don't know what we would have thought about a $1.1 million skate park. Probably shit our pants in disbelief, then proceeded to graffiti the whole place and hang out there 24/7, smoking pot and trying to find someone to buy us liquor... Skating on the East Coast sucks, anyway.

Its great the designer/s are incorporating architerctural elements from Boston, and even Philly, that skaters have discovered and exploited. I'm going home tonight and finishing TH:UG

Good luck with that. The last mission is an ass-ache. I ripped through the game on a 5 day rental and got stopped there. It'd be cool if this park shows up in the next game.

We have a GREAT skatepark here, built by the city. I'm constantly amazed at the quality, skill, and sheer number of skaters here considering we're buried under snow for half the year.

sauril, do they still move half-pipes around the city during the summer? or has this park replaced that glorious civic service?
