More kissy-poo?: Ugueth Urbina signs with the Detroit Tigers, reuniting him with catcher and kissing partner Ivan Rodriguez.

"[Pudge] was calling me every day saying to come here," Urbina said. "And then three days ago, he really talked to me and said, 'I want you to play with me.' I was really close to signing with the Indians and, when that fell through, I said, 'I'll come play with you.'" OK, then, moving on... My question: will the Tigers get a lead in any games for Ugie to come in and save?

Better question: will they have any leads when he leaves?

(him playing for the tigers. is that better or worse news for me and my fantasy team if the other possibility was for Urbina to be playing in Japan?)

I think this is the year that professional baseball returns to Detroit. Pudge rocks. Those of you who think he's not worth the money will see, again, that he's a difference-maker on a team. The Rangers made a terrible mistake letting him go.

Unless Pudge became an ace starter in the offseason, and Urbina as well, I fear baseball will once again give my beloved Tigers a pass this year. I agree the Rangers screwed the pooch letting him go, I agree he is a difference maker, but still contend he's not worth the money he got (especially on a team that is in such dire need of pitching). They were pushing for three 20-game-losers last year...
