I've never seen that "I Am Canadian" ad before until now. That thing is freakin' hilarious.! Great find.

Forks, though I have seen most of these it was nice laughing at them again. Good find indeed.

the 'former goal of the year' reminds me of the Air Gait: "similar to a slam dunk in basketball, it entails a player running behind the goal and then jumping out from behind, reaching over the net with your stick and stuffing the ball into the back of the net." I love that type of innovation.

Here's another pic sequence if you liked the first one.

Why is there so much room behind those lacrosse nets????

It's regulation for NCAA Field Lacrosse, and I like my office to be spacious. Why? What are you used to?

I've only ever seen the NLL. Is that different?

I think NLL is of the box lacrosse variety?: usually played in thawed hockey rinks. I grew up watching box lax in Alberta, but when I moved to NJ there were alot fewer rinks around, and discovered the 10 man variety: 1 goalie, 3 d, 3middies, 3 attackmen. Its usually played on a surface close to the dimensions of a soccer field. I'd link to the official rules site, but I gotta go make a deposit.

ok, im back, and boy do i feel lighter. Here is the official rule book. The field is 110 x 60 yds. (pg.9 of the rule book). The next page has a diagram, but no particular measurement for the space from the endline to the the goal, but I'd guess its about 15 yds. One of the coolest rules regarding the field, is that in the last 2 minutes of a game, the team with the ball has x amount of time to get into the restraining box (40 x 35 yds) that surrounds each goal, and can't leave the box with possession of the ball. It makes for a wild final couple of minutes.

My favorite rule was always that if an opponent is carrying the ball and you knock him out of bounds, you get the ball. But I was a defender, so that figures. 15 yds. is correct as far as I remember, garfield. Also, if a team that's shorthanded gets into the restraining box, their player is released from his penalty.
