Pete Rose Jr. is still striving for a major league career at age 34. In a 16-year-span, he has played 1,400 games in 18 cities, reaching the bigs only once for a cup of coffee in 1997.

Hey, why not? If it paid the bills, I would keep shooting at it until no team would have me. Even if I knew there was no prayer of making the show. Think about Rickey Henderson playing in Newark! The shit gets in your blood.

In case you are curious, here are the boxscores for all the games that Pete Rose Jr. got a hit: September 1 1997. September 5 1997. That's it.

The odds of Pete Rose Sr. being reinstated to baseball are much better than Pete Rose Jr. ever playing in the majors again. I admire the guy, though. I'd never stop until they forced me.

In a TV story on Pete Rose Jr., he said he makes $10,000 a year playing for his current team. So it isn't paying the bills, but he's still plugging away.
