HPU's Chase Johnston (uniform number 99) made his very first 2 point bucket of the entire season today. Before that, it was 68 3 pointers made. LOL

People calling for Hubert's job at UNC.
Terrence Hill's 34 points for VCU reminded me of the 36 that Weber State's Harold "The Show" Arceneaux put up on Bill Guthridge's Tar Heels in 1999. Both in black and white unis.
Some schools can keep their coaching lineage tight and family style like Duke and still maintain their standards.
UNC is not one of those programs. They can't just keep promoting from within and begging Roy to come back home from Kansas.
The run of coaching VCU has had blows some blueblood programs out of the water. They have been minting HC's for the rest of the country for decades. Even if those guys end up struggling at bigger jobs.

With NCSU losing to Texas, I wonder if Hubert's world would be less warm today if Siena had been able to come out strong in the second half and run Duke off the court the way UMBC did to Virginia in 2018.
Duke losing to Siena would have been seismic and would have sucked the attention away from everything else.
The sports media talking points would have been more like: "What's in the NC water supply? These guys can't compete."
That would've been good for a few hours, then the yakkers would have moved on to: "OK, who's gonna go get Dan Hurley's squad?"

With the High Point University (North Carolina) victory over Wisconsin today, it's officially now March Madness. It would be cool if they were the High Point Stoners, but noooooo...they had to go with the Prowlers. I'm sure it has nothing to do with that old AC/DC classic, Night Prowler. I think HPU is a very conservative campus.
