Carlos Alcaraz beats Janek Sinner in five sets after dropping the first two sets to win the longest (and some say best) French Open Men's Final ever played.
It was a match for the ages. Really, it was. Sinner had 3 or 4 championship points in the 4th set, but couldn't convert. That's when Carlos just took over. That's not to say that Sinner rolled over and played dead; no, far from it. Incredible match that had me, Mr Casual Tennis Fan, on the couch since set 4. Incredible come from behind victory.

Ordinary golf is not going to cut it in the present context.
Though the golf in the playoff at the Canadian Open today was pretty ordinary *average*, as per the winner's (Ryan Fox) comment, it did go 4 holes.

...and did anyone watch the UEFA Nations League final? Spain vs Portugal in what is always an emotional match. Ronaldo leveled things at 2 in the 61st minute, and there it stood through an overtime session with Spain besieging the Portuguese net for most of the extra time. With Ronaldo on the bench with injury, the teams traded shootout goals for 2 rounds. Portugal scored on their 3rd attempt, and the Portuguese keeper saved the 3rd Spanish attempt. Portugal scored the winner on their next shot to claim the match. Some wonderful soccer between two highly talented teams.

Game One of the NBA Finals won just before the buzzer by the Pacers, who had trailed all game and staged a stunning comeback.
Game One of the NHL Finals won by the Oilers deep into overtime after they came back and tied the game in the third period of regulation.
Game Two of the NHL Finals won by the Panthers in two overtimes after the Oilers tied the game with seconds left in regulation.
The Oilers and Panthers have played the equivalent of three regulation games to decide two outcomes.

Sovereignty duels with Journalism down the stretch in an intense rematch of the Kentucky Derby and pulls away to win the Belmont Stakes.
We're in the middle of an anointed sports moment with something heroic happening almost every day. No telling what will happen next.
