I know the final game didn't wind up being particularly competitive, but I do like the tournament overall, which I think is about the best as can be asked for. It gives a fan of a Western Conference team a small reason to pay attention to some early Eastern Conference games (and vice versa) and might help spread the word to the masses that basketball is indeed being played. It's an uphill battle trying to do much of anything during football season, but I do think it's a good product, and much more interesting than the All-Star Game.
If Darvin Ham gets a new head coaching gig with, say, Utah or something next season and they wind up winning *that* IST, they should just rename the whole thing after him, Emirate money be damned.
