'Santa, thanks for the best Christmas present this Leafs fan was afraid to ask for...and please forgive Ms. Yorio for her faults. Oh yeah, don't forget your milk and cookies.'

Yeah baby! They're playing super well - so of course I'm terrified. Next month against Ottawa and Philly will be good testers.

Santa is busy with other things... mainly, hooliganism. I was going to post the above (hey, it's seasonal) along with a spoof Hinterland Who's Who ad making fun of Islander fans... but the Hinterland site seems to be borken. dang. However, I do have to thank the Isles for beating Philly the other day. Anyway, blah. Hockey power rankings from Fox are about as useful as their glowing pucks. What counts is that the Leafs are also atop the hockeynews picks and CNN/SI power rankings (along with diatribe). It is a good time to be a Leaf fan. A good time for those Calgary fans, too.

Being a Leaf fan when they win is like being a Cubs fan when they win...it's unexpected, it's fleeting but it's OH so glorious! Yay team!

Grum, you'll never guess what I got for Christmas. A Leafs jersey. No, really. Now, here's the important question: I'm going to get it lettered. Who would you get? I'm thinking Tim Horton, because ... ummm ... I love donuts. (I also got a vintage Blues sweater, some maple syrup, a bunch of Horton's coffee and a copy of the "The Hockey Sweater," which I read to the boy last night. I can't do the accents like she does, though. Best. Children's. Book. Ever.)
