Cricket is Coming to America: The U.S. is getting Major League Cricket starting in July and the T20 World Cup in 2024, which will be played over 18 days in Grand Prairie, Texas. Can anyone explain why these are huge developments for the sport in the country?

Yes, but it would be in words you wouldn't understand.

Ha! All I know is that it's good when someone plays a blinder and that should not be confused with peaky blinders. And matches could last multiple days or possibly forever. And God in the Monty Python shows was a 19th century cricket legend.

This will be T20 cricket which is only about 1.5 to 2 hours long.

My hope is that cricket will become so wildly popular in the US that CBS will eventually kick the crazed Tony Romo out of the American football broadcast booth and replace him with Bumble Lloyd, to popular acclaim.

Closer to 3 hours, NoMich. But certainly not like a five day Test match*!

*Which, given the chance and with no outside "interference**" from Mrs Owl, I would still watch every ball.

**"Why are you wasting your time watching that?"
