I have wanted the Mariners to be relevant for a while now.
And my dream Super Bowl remains Lions - Browns. Although the current Lions unis are somewhat muted. In their classic vibrant silver and blue outfits they used to really pop on TV. Visually that is. Same with the Browns. I wish they would get back a bit closer to their classic look.

That's not just any ol' blue, beavy, it's Honolulu blue. And yes, I'm with you on their updated uniforms. I miss the old ones, especially the lion on the helmet. Bring back Pat, Bruce the Buccaneer, and the good cartoon lion!

First there was Allen Iverson's "practice" rant.
The SWAC rundown begins around 3:20

Wait...they took the lion off the helmet? No sarcasm intended--I had no idea.

Oh my god, that whole Deion Sanders presser was a joy to watch. *I* want to go play football for him now.

Here is the Lions' helmet history. The lion is still there, mostly, but they updated the look of it a bit to make it seem tougher or something.
I meant that I miss the old lion design on the helmet.

No Lions helmet history is complete without a Scott Mitchell cameo.

Hockey Canada announces CEO, entire board of directors will step aside
So basically what happened was all of Hockey Canada's corporate sponsors and several of the major junior hockey associations essentially FIRED the entire board by pulling all of their funding to the organization after hearing the spokesperson claim no changes were required to the board and the entire situation was simply overblown in the media.
Good luck to whomever is selected to restore Hockey Canada to credibility.

Since my Tigers and Cubs sucked royally this year I don't really have a dog in this year's playoffs. So here are my rooting interests in order:
Seattle Mariners How awesome would it be to see the Big 4's longest playoff drought be quenched by a championship trophy? Answer: extremely awesome.
San Diego Padres A fun team to watch even without Tatis, Jr. in the line-up. Besides, they're due for a championship!
Cleveland Guardians 1) they finally changed their team name away from something racist and 2) they're also due.
Los Angeles Dodgers OK, they're not due, but they are a fun team to watch.
Philadelphia Phillies I don't know, I guess I'm just ambivalent about them.
New York Yankees I don't hate them as much as I hate the Astros.
Houston Astros I will never forgive them for their cheap shot at the Cubs. One of the cheaters on the team said that they were not the Cubs when asked about a potential World Series hangover. Eff them forever.
Atlanta Braves They are the opposite of due. Besides, they need to change their name and stop doing that awful tomahawk chop.
