The Panthers have instructed Matt Rhule to pack his smock and leave the premises. I imagine many galaxy brain folks in Lincoln, NE are scheming right now

Meanwhile, rookie Bailey Zappe looked great in the Patriots' throwback red uniforms yesterday.
I never really cared for those unis because - who the hell dresses in British army red while representing the historic seat of colonial unrest?
But yesterday, I don't know...the unis looked kind of special somehow. If nothing else, the team should ditch the John Kerry / Elvis logo and put badass Pat Patriot back on the helmet where he belongs. It's a great design. Always was.
It is gonna be rich at the Belichick press sessions. "Coach, do you have a QB controversy now?" He'll come out from behind the podium and urinate on the tops of their shoes.

For a while, it sure seemed like Scott Frost was a coaching wizard and Josh Heupel was just riding his coattails.
Now, Frost is gone from Lincoln after exceeding his competency limit and Heupel has Tennessee looking sharp and riding high.

Reasons why you would look at Rhule as your new college coach: he had Temple and Baylor in the top 25 when he departed each school for greener pastures. Did a fine job in turning both of those programs into winning ones.
Reasons why you would *not* look at Rhule as your new college coach: small sample sizes at both Temple and Baylor. Looked to be in waaay over his head in the NFL.

Roughing the Brady
The call on the Brady hit looked pretty weak, but there were at least 2 similar calls this week. Both happened late in the game, favored the team that was trailing in the game, and were questionable at best. Both of those that did not involve Brady were justified by the TV officiating experts as involving contact with the defender's head on the quarterback's jaw area. One was in the NE vs Detroit game when Goff was "hugged" by a Patriot defender. If there was any such contact, it was not forceful, appearing to be incidental because of the physical closeness between the players. The other was in another game I was 'sort of' watching ,and I can't remember which one it was. It might have been Ravens vs Bengals, but I am not sure. In any case, the call was questionable but justified by the officiating analyst. Such calls might be a result of the Tagovailoa concussion situation. On the other hand, there appeared to be an attempt to keep the game close in order to retain the TV audience.
