Something called "Front Office Sports" began showing up in my inbox a few weeks ago. I have no idea what button I clicked on by accident, but I'm not entirely displeased. Each day there are one or two interesting things about the business side of sports. Today there's an item that the Cleveland Guardians baseball team might not have a clear path to their new name. There's a roller derby team by the same name that also uses a similar logo and has the domain name clevelandguardians.com since 2013. The baseball team offered 10K for the rights, but the roller derby team has sued, asking for an injunction to keep the baseball team from using the name. The roller derby team will probably settle for more money, but it might be worth watching.
