When you think of some of the places that don't have major league pro hockey and then think of some of the places that do, you end up scratching a big hole in the side of your head.
I don't know why the NHL would ever bother expanding beyond 32 teams. The league could create lots of buzz playing the relocation game for years to come.
Tahoe could find himself in high demand as a franchise acquisition ambassador in both Hartford and Cincinnati.

Isn't there an eccentric, quixotic billionaire out there somewhere who would want to build a first class hockey arena in Saskatoon? And another in Regina? Small local populations and winter travel conditions notwithstanding.
Together with Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg, that portion of the league could be called the Faraway Five.
Anything to rebalance the league north of the border by any measure.

Hey, our new rink opened here in Reno back in February. Our newly-acquired semi-pro team, the Ice Raiders, started playing about a month ago. First game sold out in 3 hours; next game sold out in 10 MINUTES. I live in Reno. Coincidence? I think not.
