I guess the new Triangle version of "the dog ate my homework" is "the snake spit on my sausage biscuit".

Come on beaver, this is a family site!

My apologies. I will amend the affidavit to read: "the snake spit on my Tim Hortons honey cruller".

NHL has its first female play-by-play announcer. Leah Hextall will do games on ESPN. If the name sounds familiar, her grandfather is Hall of Famer Brian Hextall, and her cousin is Flyers' GM Ron Hextall.

So, apparently Bruce Sutter received his final Atlanta Braves check today?

The Braves have been paying Bruce Sutter about $1.2 million per year, every year since 1991. 2021 is the final year of those $1.2 million payments. The Braves will pay Sutter about $9.1 million next year, ending their deferred money responsibility per the contract signed in 1984. That is about $46.3 million in deferred money over 32 years for Sutter, who last threw a MLB pitch in 1988.

Also, today is the day when the Hurricanes finally give Alexander Semin his final paycheck. That will free up $2.3 million dollars on the the team's salary cap.
