The NCAA is not greeted with good news on a Monday morning. The Supreme Court has ruled that the rules on education related compensation are too restrictive. Athletes still cannot be paid, the colleges cannot use expensive "gifts" to attract athletes, but much seems to remain the same. Justice Kavanaugh's separate opinion seems to be in favor of completely tearing up the existing system. I would like to hear what our resident legal counsel, tahoemoj, has to say.

I haven't read any of the ruling or the opinions, but Kavanaugh will likely have a broader and more detailed perspective than some of the other justices due to his years of involvement as a youth sports coach.
