I Don't Want Cooperstown, I want Shaughnessy: Curt Schilling's thoughts on baseball immortality and settling scores.

Never malicious, never to willfully or intentionally hurt another person. I was 100% accountable and still am.

He writes this while holding himself accountable for nothing, including his tweet calling a T-shirt advocating the lynching of journalists "awesome"; his tweet endorsing the violent insurrection at the Capitol; his tweet comparing Muslims to Nazis; his Facebook posts attacking transgender people; and his dodgy deal costing Rhode Island taxpayers at least $28.2 million loaned to his failed videogame company, which the state said was obtained through false financial projections and misleading statements.

Schilling learns nothing from his mistakes. No one has tried harder to keep himself out of the Hall of Fame.

Some people never make mistakes, rcade. It's always someone else to blame. In fact for these people the whole act of deflecting responsibility becomes empowering to them.

So, I'm confused about something here. I keep hearing about no class of 2021, but Bert Blyleven is now a hall of fame member?

I would vote Bertie in purely on the basis of him being one of the few athletes to get a Chris Berman nickname that made me laugh out loud rather than groan.

Bert "Be Home" Blyleven.
