I was reading about Preston North End's stadium before the match today against Sheffield Wednesday and found an incredible sports photograph I'd never seen before: Preston legend Tom Finney in 1956, sliding through a waterlogged pitch at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea in 1956.
The photo by John Horton of PA was the sports photograph of the year, according to The Guardian. It was so iconic that it inspired a splash fountain outside Preston's Deepdale Stadium.

Looks like Gordon Hayward will be spending all of his restaurant time at Mert's in Charlotte for the next couple of years.

Congratulations to crack executive Michael Jordan for continuing to have a hell of a week in Hornetville.
First he ropes in the Ball family on draft night, then he entices Hayward to join the crew.
I couldn't wait for Hayward to leave Boston, but did not anticipate the entertainment value he'd provide upon his departure. If you like laughing about dollar bills.
The amount of money Michael is paying Hayward is absurd. His overvaluation is up in the Juwan Howard area.
Michael must have thrown up part of his brain when he ate that Game 5 Salt Lake City pizza in 1997.
If he continues to be a profoundly inept celebrity financial wizard, he'll eventually be obliged to run for president.

Six championships, six bankruptcies, yup, checks out.

I blame Bill Laimbeer for Jordan's decisions. He wants his own Laimbeer so badly that he is compelled to keep trying them. Adam Morrison, Frank the Tank Kaminsky, and now Hayward.
As for the money, the only way that a market like Charlotte is going to attract a name player is to overspend, and this franchise needs a name player. There is just no excitement for the Hornets right now outside of the Uptown area of Charlotte. Hell, not the NBA gives a shit about them. Do an internet search for 'where do the Hornets play?' and see that the first return is this page.
After drafting Ball and overpaying for Hayward, I have to admit that I am intrigued enough to watch their games now.

I thought he went for the sleepy eyed Morrison and Kaminsky because he wanted his own Luc Longley.

If it hasn't been spoiled for you yet, watch the Orlando City SC-New York City FC shootout that just ended.
