RIP Herb Adderley, a cornerback for the ages. The Packers of yore were well known for their OL and skill position players on offense, but they had one hell of a secondary and linebacker corps, and Adderley was a main cog in the works.

He then moved on to Dallas to give the young rcade a first taste of Cowboy championship sweetness.

It's important to note on this day that Adderley was a Michigan State man. Five years ago, MSU set the table for the strange, off kilter Harbaugh era at Michigan with a surreal game ending botched punt return, and today, the Spartans may have served the final course.

I remember seeing the occasional Packers game on TV. About the only time the laconic announcer Ray Scott ever showed any excitement was for a Herb Adderly defensive highlight. RIP.
