Normally at this time of year, everyone in North Carolina would be focused on college basketball and might not even notice the escapades of Senator Burr.

Chas. Barkley is selling his pinnacle sports awards to fund affordable housing in his Alabama hometown.

May the bidding be brisk.

Best line I've read in a while comes from Jimmy Failla, a Fox Radio talking head. In an article about Brady leaving the Patriots for Tampa, Failla notes the accomplishments of Coach Belichick without Brady, among which are, "He coached the Cleveland Browns for 5 years without developing a drinking problem." The entire article has a number of good one-liners, and it's worth a few minutes. Find it in the Opinion section of Foxnews.com (if ye dare to tread there).

"...Belichick coached the Patriots to an 11-5 record with Matt Cassel under center. MATT CASSEL! That's like guiding Gronk to victory in the Scripp's National Spelling Bee."

That's gold, right there

Matt Cassel himself has been quotable at times. When asked if he was discouraged to be the backup for Heisman Trophy winners Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart at USC, he said, in effect, "Heck no - for all we know, I might have been the third best quarterback in the entire country".
