This is a real thing and apparently Ayers does get a cut of the sales. Not sure if Blackbeard does with his shirt, though.

NC grows over a million bales of cotton a year and they're selling a shirt that's 65% polyester? That's like going to a Carolina barbecue joint and asking for potted meat.
