Michael Dickerson Retires.: After suffering a groin injury that has kept him in limited action over the past 2 years, Memphis Grizzlies guard decides to call it a career. It's a crying shame, Mike was an excellent all around player who might have helped Memphis turn things around quicker. Alas, it just wasn't meant to be.

Should have chosen a different Pac-10 school, one closer to his hometown. He messed with karma.

This is very sad. Dickerson was a great and skilled competitor (and he went with the best school in the country, so I don't know what you're smoking).

It's somewhat a surprise that it came to this. During the preseason it seemed that Mike was looking forward to the coming season. He was definitely making the push to play. He had rehabbed the injury, their was lingering pain from playing but he was game to play through it. Apparently it was too much to bear. For the Grizzlies, this is nominally good news. It frees up a roster spot, and a buyout is likely to diminish the Max extension he received upon arrival in Memphis.
