>>The only thing the former Heavyweight Champion never had was peace of mind. Then maybe he should have spent a little time working on that. He's mentally and morally deficient, and the sooner he drops from the public's radar, the better.

There is more to greatness than winning. People like Knight (and his fans) will never get that, though.

Stoudemire's a headcase though. Hes a great shooter but hes been known to leave the practice court early when hes upset. He is far from a headcase. He's just focused like a demon. He should start at PG for the Hawks next season and do very well for them (though he needs more help than they can currently offer, for sure).

putting down a team 24-0 in baseball is cruel Nonsense. One of the most important lessons one can learn in life (and it's best learned early) is that one will rarely win just by showing up. And that there will always be people who are better than you are at everything.

Will we reach a point where even genetic modification is a normal occurrence, and sports stars are formulated rather than trained? Yes, inevitably.

If you worked in an office or a shop or something and you turned up after a summer vacation with a full-facial tattoo, you would expect your boss to be slightly upset, no? Yes, by all means, we must live our lives for our masters... I think that facial tattoo is the 2nd stupidest thing ever. Removing it, leaving oneself scarred and disfigured simply to placate a corporate sponsor is the stupidest.

Why is writing about sport seen as a lower form of writing in the rest of the English-speaking world? Hemingway, Roth, Updike - nothing lightweight about them. It's not the writers that are small, but the subject. And there's a lot of truth to what owlhouse notes, as well.

See how you had to spell Bill Murray's name out? Well, if it helps, I ALWAYS think "BM" when I think of Bill Murray...

I predict this will be a banner year for Arizona. They have one of--if not the--hardest schedules in the country to prepare them for tournament time, some senior leadership, two world championships team members, and the memory of last year's fiasco to fuel them. LINK
