Thanks, beavy. We're supposed to head back home tomorrow, but I still don't the wisdom of that move. I don't want to stay on a campground, though.
Btw, this is a great time if year to visit the Smokies. Not many other people around compared to the summer months. Lots of elk moving around right now.

Made it back home. Hit pockets of heavy rain, heavy wind, dry roads. Thanks to the southward shift of the storm, all is good at home

Great news. The remnants are heading our way now. The thing will pass right over the area that got hit with the gas fires and explosions. That which wasn't soaked by the FD will get soaked by the elements.

Good news indeed, NoMich. Now we New Englanders wait for the soaking. I'm flying to Denver on Tuesday morning, so I'm keeping an eye on things.
Had not Florence been working her madness, the gas explosions might have been the big news story of the day. Even Nashua was called and provided an engine and a ladder truck. To have 60 to 80 buildings burn down and only one fatality is nearly unbelievable.

NoMich, that hurricane now aims to hook around your western flank, so it appears. It may come straight to Cherokee when it turns north. The tracking map is starting to look like Chancellorsville. Chattanooga beckons. Disregard all messages from Capt. Andrew Luck.
