This won't mean much to those who haven't been a resident of the Northeast US in the last 25 years and/or didn't follow the 1988 Presidential election.

One of my grown kids rescued a stray male kitten in the depths of winter who has now somehow ended up with us for the time being and is growing into a fine critter. I needed to come up with a name for him but he wasn't doing anything remarkable that "told" us what his name should be.

So I finally decided that in honor of Belgium's triumphant march into the World Cup Round of 16, I would name him Kitty Lukaku.

(I feel a special connection to the Belgians because like that squad, when you have a young male cat in the household, you have more than one Hazard to account for.)

The CFL game currently on ESPN2 has live mics on the coaches and players. It's aboot the greatest thing I've ever seen.
