TIL: Sergei Samsonov is still involved in the NHL. He has been in Forwards Development with the Carolina Hurricanes the past four years. Now he's the director of the department. How did I not know this?! Also, he's still only 38.

I watched this live last night. The way Jessie Warren jumped from nowhere was amazing.

World Cup contest ideas as bonus points:
- For the group stage, pick which team will score/allow the most/least goals in the round.
- For the first round of knockouts, guess how many games will go to shootout.
Props to make before the first game is played:
- Total number of red cards for the entire tournament.
- Total number of nil-nil regulation scores.
- Pick which team is going to score a goal (in regulation or extra time, but not penalty kicks) in every single match they play in the tournament.

I'm writing code for a World Cup contest. I envision the following rules:
1. Pick the teams that will advance out of each group.
2. Pick a player in each group and get points for his goals.
3. Pick the winners of each knockout game.
4. Pick a player in each knockout game and get points for goals.
5. Pick some props in the final.
The points for picking a game winner will go up by 1 in the quarterfinals, 1 in the semifinals and 2 in the finals.
Any comments?
