98 years ago Boston traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees, and the 86-year-long "Curse of the Bambino" began. Today, upon hearing the news that Kyrie Irving will miss the playoffs, the thought came to me that a new curse might have been placed on a Boston team. Since the trade of Isaiah Thomas, the Celtics have lost the services of Gordon Hayward (5 minutes into the season) , have lost Irving for the remainder of the season, Marcus Smart will probably not be able to play until the 3rd round of the playoffs (if the Celtics get that far - very doubtful), and at various times throughout the season other starters and principal reserves have missed time. Do we have a new curse? Before he was traded, Thomas insisted that when he reached free agency any team that wanted him would have to "back up the Brinks truck" in order to pay him. Do we have the "curse of the Brinks truck" on our hands?

Boston has such a notorious history with armored car robberies that if there is a Brink's curse, it's been in place for over 50 years.

Given how little Thomas has played since the trade I'm not seeing evidence of a curse.

No evidence of a curse? Now even Gordon Hayward's dog will undergo ACL surgery. It's everywhere!!!

No, Charlestown does. Howie Long knows what's up.
