Even coming from a Sharks fan, I love watching McDavid play hockey. Maybe he doesn't have the passer's sixth sense that Crosby has, but his combination of speed, strength, and hands is just incredible.

Ron Francis out as Carolina Hurricanes general manager
My feelings as a Hurricanes fan: this is the right move.
Francis did a fine job of getting the car back on the road after Rutherford drove it into the cornfield. However, things have not improved beyond that and I don't see him actively making things better. His drafts have been OK at best and some of his signings have gone very bad. Viktor Rask makes a ton of money to not know how to scratch his ass and Scott Darling has been a major bust in net.
There is a feeling around here that there was an internal battle between Francis and head coach Bill Peters and new team owner Tom Dundon chose the coach. I don't really give a shit about any internal power battles, I'm just sick and tired of seeing this team not make the playoffs season after season. I want someone in the organization that knows how to build/coach a winning team.
It's a huge gamble to hire a guy that has his jersey hanging in the rafters and the Hurricanes actually did that twice by hiring Francis as the GM and Rod Brind'amour as an assistant coach. When things inevitably go wrong, it makes it really difficult to show those guys the door.
