Glenn Hoddle wins the sack race!: Despite being the 3rd biggest spending club over the summer (after Chelsea and Manchester United), Tottenham have had a bad start to the season and have parted company with manager Glenn Hoddle after only 6 games.
The only thing that surprises me is how long it took for the madman to get sacked. He's deranged and clueless, not normally a winning combination. A great player though.

Rangers manager Alex McLeish, Celtic's Martin O'Neill, Portsmouth's Harry Redknapp and Charlton's Alan Curbishley have all been linked with the White Hart Lane job. And the chances of any of these taking the job are...zero. I'm drawing up my own short list of John Gregory, Wilko, George Graham, Graham Taylor, Trevor Francis and David Platt. Which will result in Spurs being relegated - a good result for all concerned :p

Apparently all bets are off when it comes to Raddy Antic, who, of course is a mate of Pleats. As a so called director of football, shouldn't Pleat take some responsibility?

Wilko?

Wait, didn't he manage Leeds for a while last year? Holy shite, this guys sucks!

He was Sunderland's manager. Good record that one: Worst Premiership points total ever.

You blokes are lucky as hell to have headlines that aren't afraid to include the word 'shite'. N.Amer. translation "Soccer manager released after differences with management." I think someone spiked our lexicon antibiotics.

'with' should be in there somewhere....its a fun new game, let's see you can get it right.

btw, this brings to mind an earlier post. I said Spurs, Leeds and Wolves were bound for the bottom. And this weekend, we have the bottom three: Spurs, NEWCASTLE and Wolves. Newcastle? What the hell happened there?

Newcastle? What the hell happened there? I dunno man. They had a fairly difficult starting schedule, but they don't seem to be able to pull their shit together against the teams they should beat. I hope they shake it off.

The Guardian's all over the Hoddle hoop-la. Best article is the one with all the players' comments about Hoddle's "man-management style" (that just sounds gay). Wow, doesn't look like Hoddle had a lot of respect.

Isn't a hoddle also the amount of coffee you receive at an IHOP?

I sure picked a shite team to support.

At bloody last. Now maybe we can get a decent manager who can :gasp: use tactics or inspire players? We'll be fine, Keane is back, Kanoute is firing and Postiga is warming up.

You can have Houllier...

... but you can't have Bruce. We'll be fine, Keane is back, Kanoute is firing and Postiga is warming up. That's all very well but it's not up-front that Spuds have problems. A lightweight midfield and a chaotic defence spring to mind.

I could understand giving him the money and then waiting until christmas to see how he did, or I could understand sacking him pre-season and giving the money to the incoming manager. I could understand the second one better, actually. This I can not understand.

I was suprised by the fact he was only given 6 games, but I suppose Spurs were just continuing from the end of last season, where they did pretty badly too.

Looking at the defence, I don't think its all that bad.. Just a bit easily breakable. I swear we win the injuries list any day :) Midfield looks midtable imo, some decent players up and coming and coming back from injury too..

Couldn't have happened to a nicer God botherer. His past sins are revisiting him, obviously.
