By the end of Sunday's games, the standings in the American League East/Central/Wild-Card could be:

  • CLE 79-63
  • TOR 79-63
  • BOS 79-63
  • BAL 78-64
  • HOU 78-64
  • DET 77-65
  • NYY 77-65
  • KCR 76-66
Eight teams within three games of each other, for four playoff spots (ALE, ALC, WC1, WC2).

Once we see that there is a decent chance that the Jays and Rangers will meet in the postseason, I'm comfortable leaving the fate of the rest of the squads in the Lord's hands.

My sphincter likes it better that way.
