Raiders Stadium Backers To Las Vegas: Give Us $750 Million, Or Else: ... Rich old baby Mark Davis, truly evil plutocrat Sheldon Adelson, and Las Vegas’s scummy sheen have all combined to create one of the most abhorrent cast of characters we’ve ever seen attached to a stadium financing project. If anyone can finally convince American sports fans and politicians that publicly funded stadiums are a massive scam, it’s these goons.
NFL franchise owners are by definition extremely rich, if not billionaires, and regardless of moral character shouldn't get fed at the public trough.

In the real world, city officials would say, "Buh-bye!" Given big spenders (and not-so-big-spending vacationers) come to Las Vegas, and the city was awarded an NHL franchise, I think city officials will bend over to get a tax plan through.

Sheldon Adelson's opposition to weed is pretty rich to me coming from a guy whose fortune is based on something probably more harmful to people on the whole.

Why doesn't the league invite someone else to buy the team. If they want to maintain a certain level of unctuosity, there are a couple of Donalds that come to mind. Donald Sterling is one of them. With him, if he says he's got the dough, at least you know he really does.

The taxpaying citizens would be better off if these billionaires build their stadium elsewhere. (or use their own money) These taxpayer funded stadiums never bring in more money then it costs to build and maintain them, big holes to throw tax dollars into.
