The Indian Premier League returns tomorrow, April 8th.: Like cherry blossoms in Japan every spring, the arrival of IPL is eagerly awaited by many. The colours are more garish, the scene anything but peaceful. Administrators are averse to halting the cricketing treadmill and so, this year, the IPL starts just six days after the World T20. The players might want rest, but they cannot afford to ask for time off because millions are at stake. And so IPL 9 begins on Saturday in Mumbai.
There's no shame in aspiring to acquire special powers.
Or even just gain some administrative courtesies.

With my adopted team, the Chennai Super Kings, not allowed to participate this year, I'm not sure how excited I'll be to watch it.

Well, you could root for one of the new temporary franchises. The Rising Pune Supergiants A) have an awesome name and 2) made short work of the defending champs, Mumbai Indians, today. Pretty damn nice line-up, too.

Rising Pune Supergiants
Equal parts gastrointestinal and astronomical. Like the Oort Cloud.
