Gay minor league baseball player quit because of homophobic comments from teammates and coaches.:
In a letter to Outsports, Dunnington says he decided to leave baseball after hearing comments about how gay people should be killed.
Wonder what kind of contract he is/was under in the minors, whether he can void the agreement under the circumstances and return to the game somewhere else in a more accepting environment - if such exists.

I'm sure there are more accepting environments, in the sense that those sorts of people tend to look over their shoulder before they talk, if they think A Gay might be in the area.

He would have to be released from the team that signed him before he could go to another team.

"I was miserable in a sport that used to give me life, and ultimately I decided I needed to hang up my cleats for my own sanity."
/sigh This is so depressing.
