FIFA Women's World Cup 2003.: This hastily-rescheduled tournament (thanks, SARS!) comprising the 16 top women's national teams kicks off Sep 20. Who will win it all? Who do you want to win it? Who's your player to watch? Will you even be watching?

I want to try to get out to LA for one weekend, but they were packaging the tickets with the final, and I couldn't pay that much. I guess I need to see if they are selling single game tickets yet.

Who's broadcasting this in the US? Looks to me like it's the ABC/ESPN/ESPN2 team again. Final will be Oct. 12 on ABC at 12:30 EST. BTW, it also looks like ESPN Classic is going to be replaying the 99 US/China final several times in the upcoming weeks. Yes, the Brandy Chastain one. And yes, I will be watching.

US will win but Brazil and China should make it close.

Well it looks like we didn't qualify, though it's the first I heard of it. Even if we had, and even if I did want to watch it, it wouldn't be broadcast here anyway. Except for maybe the Final. To answer your questions wc2002: I would guess the USA. I don't really care, though preferably not the USA. Not the faintest idea. Nope.

Eh, soccer is fun. Big tournaments are fun. This should be fun. I wish I could see Sweden (having some Swedish roots, yo) but think I could have fun cheering for Ghana or Austraila. But I have fun going to Sonoran Thunder games -- which would be women's amateur soccer, so what do I know.

Brettski, from where might you be logging in then? We need to find something to throw back in your face.
